A silver and ivory Shibayama lidded jar, the foot, phoenix handles, shoulder, inside and lid with knob in shape of quails of silver with scrolls and flowers in silver wire and translucent enamel, the body of ivory with two herons underneath autumn flowers and two birds underneath peonies, magnolias and other flowers in mother-of-pearl, tortoise shell, coral and stained ivory. Signed at the base Yoshihide. One peony flower replaced. Late 19th century.
