A katana. 14th/15th century / 19th century

A katana. Length of the blade 67.1 cm, shinogi zukuri, gunome-midare hamon, nie, itame hada, nakago: mumei, suriage, two mekugi-ana. Very good state of polish. 14th/15th century. Shirasaya with sayagaki attributing the blade to the Omiya-Group. Fabric bag.

Koshirae: iron tsuba with twigs in low relief and spare inlays of gold, iron fuchi-kashira with waves in flat relief, iron kojiri with silver rim and dragon in flat relief, copper menuki in the shape of ken-swords, binding of light-coloured leather over same, black lacquer saya with irregular red stripes, brown sageo, tsunagi. 19th century. Brocade bag.

Certificate

For the katana, certificate of the NBTHK with attribution to the Omiya-Group (14th/15th century, Bizen).
For the koshirae, certificate of the NBTHK, dated Heisei 17 (2005) rating classifying the koshirae as "Hozon tôsôgu.
