An 18k gold brooch "HERMOSURA"

The frame inlaid with the head of an African woman. The earrings and turban of carved bone with silver oxide decor. Set with seven tiny brilliant-cut diamonds (in total ca. 0.14 ct) and an oval ruby (ca. 0.10 ct). Engraved to the underside "Hermosura". Cu Stamped: Fineness 750. L 4 cm. Weight 17.8 g.

The engraving "Hermosura", Spanish for beauty, refers to Ernest Hemingway's autobiographical story "Across the River and into the Trees", that tells of his last great love affair with the young Countess Adriana Ivancich.
