A four-case inrô. Second half 19th century

Displaying the emblems of the five seasonal festivals in gold and silver hiramaki-e, red and black lacquer and a few aogai inlays on a gyôbu nashiji ground: on one side paddle and birdies, and a thread ball for the 1.1., two inuhariko and a peach blossom branch for the 3.3., a helmet and a sword for the 5.5., mulberry leaves, silk winders and tanzaku for the 7.7., and chrysanthemums and a sake bowl for the 9.9. To the inside nashiji and fundame. Signed in maki-e Kansai saku with kaô in brown lacquer. One compartment with two cracks, another with one hairline crack, some gyôbu flakes missing. Coral-coloured stone ojime.
