A large, portable wedding box. 19th/early 20th century

Of octagonal shape with seven boxes and a flat lid. Open-worked base with fixed handle, brass fittings and a movable carrying handle. The sides are decorated in different colours on red lacquer with rocks and waves above which a phoenix and peach twigs alternate with double fish and other symbols. The lid with five dragons chasing pearls between clouds. Damaged.
