Dancing Rakan. Boxwood. 18th century

Depicted in motion with a long scarf flying around his whole body over his shoulders, back and right arm. The suggestion of a reishi mushroom held to his ear as if listening. Boxwood, very thoughtfully carved and engraved. Beautiful, shiny patina, polished in places with light colouring. A few black ink flecks.
