Butterfly dancer. Ivory. Second half 19th century

Signed: Ono Ryômin
Standing in rich, wide-armed robes with a diadem with an inserted flower in the hair. Ivory, finely carved and polished with fine engraving. Subtly coloured.
Height 4.3 cm

The signature is similar to those of two artists listed in MCI, p. 655, although this lot was made in the second half of the 19th century.
