A juggler's monkey. Ivory. Second half 19th century

In a long, wide robe with dense Hanabishi pattern,
climbing over a giant hat, covered with lancet-shaped
Scroll. Ivory, finely carved and engraved, darkly accentuated,
the eyes inlaid with reddish-brown horn with dark pupils.
Beautiful, yellowish-brownish patina.
