A large Netherlandish wedding mortar

Golden brown cast bronze with redone brown patina. A broad banderole around the rim inscribed in majuscule "EVERT STRVCKMANN ANNA MARIA TENGES ANNO 1675". Cast with two bands of arabesques, the lower one with grotesques and mythical beasts. Two angular handles. A horizontal crack to the lower section. H 31.3, D 31.3 cm. Weight ca. 33 kg.
