A huanghuali wood horseshoe armchair. 19th century

On four rounded legs passing through the seat and supporting the curved armrests and back rail constructed of five joined pieces, the legs connected by stretchers in differing planes, the beaded apron curved at the front, the back splat with a carved ruyi ornament. The back faded, three feet replaced, one with age damage.
