A carved ivory depiction of the Crucifixion, probably South German, second quarter 18th century

Depiction of the Crucifixion of Christ taking place on Mount Calvary with the outline of the city of Jerusalem in the background. The Virgin and Saint John are shown standing beside the cross whilst Mary Magdalene kneels below it with her ointment jar depicted beneath a small skull. Counterpart to the previous lot.
In perfect condition, only the reverse slightly yellowed. 18.5 x 11 cm.
