A Himachal Pradesh silver groom's crown (umlakh). Late 19th century

Consisting of five panels connected by hinges displaying in repoussé a deity and its animal vehicle, from left to right Durga/Kali on a lion, Karttikeya and peacock, Ganesha and rat, Shiva and nandi, and Brahma and goose. Each Panel surmounted by a face and a vase-like ornament. Weight 907 g.
Height of each panel 21.8 cm; total width 39.2 cm
