A Tibetan mandala of Amoghapasha-Lokeshvara. 17./18th century

With the eight-armed Amoghapasha standing at the centre of the mandala palace, within a lotus blossom supporting eight Buddhas and bodhisattvas, beyond the circular border Buddha Shakyamuni at top centre flanked by Avalokiteshvara and Prajnaparamita, with figures enclosed in architectural settings showing morality tales from the previous life stories of the historical Buddha to the sides and a protector deity with an animal-headed retinue below, amidst a green landscape. Fine brocade mounting. Framed and glazed.
