A Myochin school russet iron jingasa. Edo period

Ichimonji type with a high crown and domed rim, the surface with a chased dragon in clouds, and pierced with grommets for the chin straps with gilt metal fittings, the top with a gilt copper three-layered tehen no kanamono, the rim with a sentoku edge, the underside lacquered red, with a lacquered leather application and strap bands with small cushions. Old accession numbers in white and black ink.
