A rare one-handled mortar dated 1450

Cast bronze with brown shimmering patina. Slightly tapering form with moulded base and narrow, protruding rim. With eleven narrow ribs and one half-length rib beneath the small C-shaped handle. Decorated with three plaques, one dated “1450”, two in Gothic minuscule with the designation "anno", the other illegible. H 16.2, D 17.3 cm. Weight c. 7 kg.
