A mortar with double-headed eagle motifs

Cast bronze with chocolate brown patina. Richly decorated with two central double-headed eagles flanked by large acanthus scrolls above a band of hunting scenes alternating with putti holding vases. Below the rim a detailed band of arabesques with fruit. Two twisted C-shaped handles. Two cracks to the body. H 17, D 21 cm. Weight c. 8 kg.
