A large Copenhagen silver sugar box

Parcel gilt oval silver box on four curved supports. Decorated with shellwork and twist fluting, four portrait medallions to the lid. H 11; W 19.5; D 14.5 cm, weight 768 g.
Marks of Nicolai Langermann, 1750.

Langermann collaborated with the royal court supplier Fabritius. Today, his works can be found in the Danish national museum and the royal silver chamber in Rosenborg Palace in Copenhagen, among many other collections.
