A rare pair of wooden shoes with the coat of arms of Emperor Napoleon

Wooden clogs with lacquered décor on sky blue ground. Probably decorative rather than functional. The instep painted with the imperial coat of arms surrounded by a border of flowering tendrils. Some minor retouches, the upper edge slightly worn. L 18 cm.
Paris, unknown workshop, early 19th C.
