A fine walrus tusk kiseruzutsu. Second half 19th century

Of otoshi-zutsu type, displaying in a cartouche a jumping shishi whose tail forms the himotôshi on a tatewaku pattern in openwork, below a cloud-shaped cartouche with a shippô motif surrounded by billowing bands on a net pattern ground, on the reverse feathery scrolls in engraving. Signed with a carved seal reading Kutsu?on.
