A Laotian bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. 17th century

Seated in meditation on stepped and open worked base, the right hand lowered in bhumisparsha mudra, the left hand in dhyana mudra above the feet, wearing a closely clinging sanghati with a sash draped across the left shoulder. The eyes painted with white and the pupils with black colour.
