An ivory netsuke of a man with a child. Mid-19th century

A bearded old man seated with a trumpet under his left arm whilst a boy climbs over his right shoulder pulling forcefully on his long beard which he finds amusing. Finely carved and engraved with darkly stained details. Nice golden-yellow, natural patina.
Height 3.7 cm
