A boxwood and ivory shunga netsuke, by Masakazu. Late 19th century

A houseboat with a thatched, removeable roof over the middle section concealing a pair of lovers beneath. The face of a watching confidant visible through a hole in the thatched roof rounds off the scene. Signed Kazuyoshi on the stern.
