An ebony netsuke of a reclining ox, by Sekiran. Late 19th century

Signed Sekiran at the age of 75 (Gyonen nana jû sai sekiran) on an inlaid, oblong bone reserve. Reclining, with its head turned to the side, wearing a halter rope. The eyes inlaid with amber-coloured pupils.
L 4,7 cm

Probably a gift to the Brockhaus publishing house.
