A narwhal netsuke of an elephant with Chinese men. 18th century

Standing on a flat, oval base and adorned with a saddle cloth richly decorated in relief with calyxes amongst small, delicate motifs, the elephant turns its head and trunk to the left towards the two Chinese servants loading it.
Height 2.3 cm
