An ivory netsuke of a pheasant. Early 19th century

Standing on an oval base, pecking at a millet cob on a twig suspended with painterly, rounded leaves. Very finely carved, the plumage and long, decoratively curved tail feathers finely engraved and darkly accentuated.
Height 2.7 cm; width 3 cm
