A Meissen porcelain cream pot and stand with midnight blue ground

Rounded pot with moulded S-shaped handles on three paw feet, with original domed lid and saucer. All pieces decorated with indianische blumen, the lid with a mythical bird, in purple rimmed reserves. The central reserve of the saucer with a firing flaw. Blue crossed swords mark. The inner and outer rim of the pot chipped, the stand with four restored rim chips. H of pot with lid 11.5, D of stand 17.5 cm.
Circa 1730, decor attributed to Johann Ehrenfried Stadler.

Acquired in 1997 from Kunsthandel Zemlin, Hannover.
