An important glass goblet commemorating Johann Georg III of Saxony

Round base supporting a baluster shaft with a large bubble inclusion and an almost cylindrical cup decorated with three oval medallions. The central medallion bearing a portrait of the Duke in profile in a breastplate holding a sword aloft, the second with the Saxon coat of arms flanked by palm fronds and the third with trophies. H 23 cm.
Attributed to Northern Bohemia or Lower Silesia, the decor Hirschberger Tal, 1680 - 91.
