A lower Silesian glass goblet and cover with a coat of arms

Round base with faceted underside supporting an octagonally faceted shaft with twisted canes. Tapering cup with original domed lid with pinecone finial and twisted canes. The lid and cup each with a band of cut star motifs on matte ground, the display side with a round coat of arms beneath a banderole inscribed AV and C. The reverse with the motto FRVSTRA OBSTANT (resistance is futile) above a round medallion with a ship in a storm. H 39.3 cm.
Attributed to Schreiberhau/Szklarska Poreba, early 18th C.
