An Augsburg silver gilt tankard.

Slightly tapering vessel with C-shaped handle on a moulded base. Embossed throughout with cherub's heads and garlands of fruit amid scrolls. The slightly domed lid with conforming decor and bifurcated thumb rest, the finial formed as a lion holding a shield. H 15.5 cm, weight 395 g.
Marks of Matthäus I Seutter, 1610 - 12.
