A red raku chawan. Second quater 20th century

Of small shape with a slightly inward sloping wall, on a small round foot with itokiri. Salmon red glaze with whitish spots and two large characters in white and a dedication to 88-year-old Sei?fû. Stamped Raku in a circle and the large character "dai" in white. Restored chip to the rim. Wooden box with inscription to the lid reading Raku Kichizaemon and sealed Raku.
Height 8.3 cm; outer diameter 10.4 cm

Raku Kichizaemon XIII (1887-1944) followed his father Kônyû in 1919.
