A bronze vase by Aoki Kisoku (born 1939). Late 20th century

Of squat bulbous shape decorated in silver wire and a little gilding. Wooden box, the inscription on the lid reading Seidô sei kabin (flower vase of bronze) and the inscription to the reverse of the lid reading Zôgan Nihon shin kogei ka unmei ... kai and signed Aoki Kisaku and sealed Aoki.
Height 16.8 cm

Aoki Kisaku was born in 1939 in Takaoka, an old centre of metal working. In 1965 he became indipendent and in 1979 he exhibited at the Nihon Shin Kogei Ten (Japan New Craft Exhibition) and at the Nitten for the first time.
