A smoking set. Late 19th century

Consisting of a tabakoire of deer skin with a very large kanagu of silver in shape of seven no and kyogen masks including Kitsune, Oni, Tengu, Hannya, Okame and Usobuki, on the back a drum, suzu and fan, a large carnelian bead for an ojime, a pipe case of musozutsu type of ivory, the rim lined with silver in the manner of dripping glaze, the pipe of bamboo with partly gilded silver fittings with an Oni and an Okame mask in mixed metal inlays, signed Yamashiro sei and marked jungin.
