A shibuichi portable writing set (yatate). Second half 19th century

On the lid of the oblong box autumn grasses and a crescent moon in katakiri and inlays of gold and silver, inside a compartment for the ink soaked cotton, and four other compartments, including a telescope brush (damaged), scissors, a paper knife and a ruler.
