22 kt Gelbgold. Ring with a twisted band and shoulders decorated with gold spheres, the bezel set with a carnelian intaglio (17 x 15 mm) carved with a nude figure of Venus with the weapons of Mars viewed from behind. Bezel 2 x 1.9 cm. Ring size 59. Weight 17.29 g.
The intaglio eastern Roman, 3rd/4th C. A.D. The ring mountings presumably later.
