An 18k gold sardonyx cameo brooch

18 kt Gold. Set with a grey and white layered chalcedony intaglio finely carved with a man's head in profile in the style of Roman republican era coin portraits. In a bi-colour gold surround decorated with granulation. Originally a clasp, the brooch findings later. 2.7 x 2.1 cm. Weight 6.73 g.
