A Gothic single-handled mortar

Golden brown cast bronze with natural patina. Of tapering form with a slightly protruding base resting on three stylised paw feet from which issue three long angular ribs. The rim slightly flaring and moulded. With an angular, octagonally faceted handle. Restored cracks, the base slightly rounded due to use. H 13.5, D 13.5 cm, weight c. 2.8 kg. Includes a corresponding T-shaped pestle. L 24.2 cm.
