A Restauration era fauteil

Gilt boxwood armchair with replaced upholstery and later textile covers. The rounded backrest carved with scrolls and crowned with a palmette motif. Stamped XI behind the apron. Repairs and abrasions revealing traces of older polychromy and overpainted areas. H 97, W 66.5, seat depth 53 cm.
Attributed to Paris, ca. 1810 – 20.
