An ivory okimono of Daruma and tanuki. Late 19th century

Daruma sits on the large scrotum of a tanuki dancing beside him, the badger holding a sake bottle with a maru no hachi mon in one paw and an accounting ledger with the characters “sake no kayoi” in the other. Signed Naomitsu. The objects in Daruma’s hands missing.
