Four French bronze busts of famous women

Cast in the round with hollow shoulders. H ca. 13.5, H with ebonised wood base ca. 24 cm.
Late 18th / 19th C.

These busts probably represent the following persons:
Berenice, Queen of Egypt and wife of Ptolemy III, who cut off her braid as an offering to the gods to protect her husband in war.
Omphale, mythological queen of Lydia, who enslaved Hercules and stole his lion's pelt cloak.
Nefertiti, the 18th Dynasty Queen of Egypt, shown with two feathers on her right shoulder, as found in numerous ancient Egyptian reliefs.
Cleopatra, legendary queen of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, with the serpent on her shoulder.
