A kiri wood tonkotsu with inlays. Second half 19th century

Of longish cross section, to one side a large camellia blossom, bud, leaves and wasp in carved inlays of ivory, lead, mother-of-pearl and on the reverse a jui sceptre of cherry bark with a cord of metal and a bead of malachite. Inscription with seal reading Mitsunobu. At the base an inlaid ivory tablet inscribed Maeda zo. Ojime with plumblossom branches in Shibayama inlay.
