Cast bronze with black patina, green marble base. A reduced version of the bronze group of an Amazon fighting a panther. The speer loosely attached. Unmarked. Slight wear to the patina. Minor chips to the base. H 27.5 cm
Cast attributed to Berlin, model after August Karl Eduard Kiss, second half 19th C.

August Kiss (1802 - 1865) worked on the monumental bronze sculpture cast by Christoph Heinrich Fischer from 1839 to 1841. It was placed as a counterpart to the lion fighter on horseback by Albert Wolff on a staircase in the Altes Museum in Berlin.
