A probably Victorian 14k gold and red Sicilian coral cameo brooch.

Red coral (corallium rubrum) finely carved with the head of a meanad in a historicist shield-shaped surround. With a breakage on the reverse, presumably naturally occuring. Replaced white gold pin with safety clasp. H 3.5 x 2.5 cm. Weight 10.58 g.
