An 18 kt gold granulation ring with a neoclassical agate intaglio depicting standing Omphale with the attributes of Hercules.

Ring in the ancient Roman revival style, the oval filigree and granulation bezel surrounding a brown and white banded agate intaglio ("eye agate", c. 22 x 18 mm) carved with a depiction of the nude queen Omphale holding the attributes of Hercules, lion's pelt and club. Bezel 3.0 x 2.5 cm. Ring size c. 58. Total weight 16.56 g.
Presumably 18th century.
