A Dutch mortar inscribed "LOF GODT VAN AL"

Golden brown cast bronze with dark brown patina. Decorated with two bands of acanthus foliage and inscribed below the rim in Latin capital letters: "LOF GODT VAN AL Ao 1638". With two zoomorphic handles. With some wear and minor dents. H 13.5, D 15 cm, weight c. 3.2 kg.
Deventer, attributed to Henrick ter Horst, 1638.
