A rare Gothic single-handled mortar

Golden brown cast bronze with polished natural patina. Tapering mortar on a slightly stepped base. The single thick handle attached to the body with two staves. With surface dents, the base slightly concave due to usage. Minor casting flaws to the base, slight irregularities to the patina of the rim behind the handle. H 16.1, D 16.8 cm, weight c. 4.6 kg.
Attributed to the Alps/Austria, 15th / early 16th C.
