A rare Gothic single-handled mortar

Cast bronze with golden shimmering patina. Of squat, tapering form on a slightly stepped base. The single slender handle attached to the body with three staves. Minor surface dents, slight traces of debris to the interior. One area of the lower section slightly buckled due to usage, with minor cracks. H 13.3, D 14.8 cm, weight c. 3 kg.
Alpine, attributed to Austria, 15th / early 16th C.
