A pair of Rostock silver candlesticks

Baluster-form candlesticks on square bases engraved with the coat-of-arms of the von Kettenburg family, one additionally monogrammed "VKB" on the underside. H 15,5 cm, weight 357 g.
Marks of Lorentz Johann Röper, circa 1740.

The von Kettenburg family, who originated from Hannover, were in possession of the Malgendorf estate in eastern Mecklenburg since 1661.

Provenance

Acquired from Ralf Schepers art dealers in 1984; private collection, Baden-Württemberg.
