A blue and white double gourd vase. Wanli period (1572–1620)

With two globular sections surmounted by a waisted neck, the lower section painted in deep cobalt blue with a continuous figure scene depicting four of the Eight Immortals in a fenced garden, surrounded by a landscape, the upper scene with figures in a river landscape, the high tapering neck with upright stylised banana leaves.
