Two Maharashtra copper alloy figures of Mahishasuramardini. Central India. 19th century

a) Standing with one foot on her vehicle, the lion, and with the other foot on the buffalo demon which she grabs by its hairs, the hands holding trident, sword and kapala, and b) a folk bronze altar with Durga grabbing the hair of the demon, holding trident, sword and shield, and with emblems of the sun and moon on the prabha. (2)
