The flat lid and sides decorated with a rice paddy with young plants and a scarecrow, a water basin, a weeping willow and birds in flight all in gold takamakie and hiramakie with a little silver and kirikane. partly on a black ground, the reverse of the lid with three peacock feathers, the eyes of aogai, on mura nashiji, the inside with a tray, a suzuri and a water dropper of brass with brown cloud design. One rim of the lid restored and minor traces of use.
